I Like to Move It, Move It

Noah is officially on the move. He hasn't quite mastered this crawling thing yet, but he can definitely get where he wants to go.

Welcome Summer

We officially ushered in summer by trying out the inflatable pool my grandmother bought for Noah. It was a hit. He had fun splashing around and playing with his toys with Daddy close by in case he decided to go head first over into the water.

He was intrigued by this little whale toy that sprays water out of the top. He was less than thrilled when it sprayed him in the face, but he quickly recovered and kept playing.

He grew tired after a while and it was time to snuggle up to Daddy to get dry.

Mother's Day 2012

My first Mother's Day felt a bit surreal. I always thought as I was buying Mother's Day cards, "One day I'll be a mom and I'll be getting these cards". All of a sudden one day became today and it took me a little bit by surprise.

We spent Saturday at my parents' house visiting with my mom. We took a few family photos (which I actually like), Noah played in the birdbath, and we played a little corn hole. Noah made a picture frame for his Nana. He made footprints on the frame and turned them into a butterfly. He's really quite talented for an 8-month old.

On Sunday, Taylor got up with Noah so I could sleep a little later. When I came downstairs, he was cooking pancakes and bacon. It was quite tasty. We went to church, came home and had lunch, and just spent the day hanging out at home. It rained most of the day so there wasn't much else we could do anyway. We had a tasty dinner and Noah gave me a gift card to get a tan before we go to the beach in July. My first Mother's Day, however surreal it was, turned out to be a really nice day.

8 Months Old

Our not so little anymore Noah turned 8 months old on the 8th. This month he had his second ear infection and a chest x-ray. He had a nasty cough and chest congestion that had gone on long enough that the doctor ordered a chest x-ray to rule out pneumonia. He was all clear and was finally able to get rid of the cough after a couple weeks of vapor bath and a humidifier.  His second tooth has also come in. His little grin looks a lot different now that he has teeth. He doesn't look like such a baby anymore.

He also had his first trip to the lake, his first dip in the river, and his first experience with the sprinkler. I think it's safe to say that our boy is a fan of the water. We can't wait to take him to the pool when it opens later this month.

He's still not crawling, but he can move himself around. He rolls and squirms and grunts a lot, but he figures out a way to get where he wants to go. And he seems to always be in motion. He's quite the little bundle of energy and does not really like to sit still. Unless it's for one of his new favorite activities. He takes his basket of toys, pulls all the toys out of it, turns the basket over, and just slaps it with his hands or a toy. If I had knows how much fun the basket would be we could have just skipped the toys altogether.

He's sweet and lovable, talks a lot, and is showing signs of being strong willed and independent. With the mischievous little grin that sneaks out from time to time, I have a feeling this little guy is going to give us a run for our money.

Fun With Nana and Poppa

Noah had a fun day on Wednesday when his Nana and Poppa came to visit.  We spent some time watching the sprinkler....

Played a little ball....

And spent some time just being silly.

The end of the day was spent laughing at Nana. Noah tends to get a little wired after a bath, and today was no exception.

I think it's safe to say that all three of them had a blast, and Noah was completely worn out at the end of the day.
