I think he was okay with the float, but what he really wanted was to be held so he could splash. And splash he did. He was also intrigued by the fountains over by the kiddie pool. It was hard to get a smile out of him, but he was also really distracted by the other people and kids playing in the pool. All in all I think it was a successful first trip.

Little Fish, Big Pond
Today we took Noah up to the big neighborhood pool for the first time. It seemed about time to try out his float and see what he thought of the water. I won't go so far as to say that he was excited, but he didn't seem to mind it.

9 Months Old
Noah turned nine months old on the 8th. At his checkup we learned his is now 18 lbs 8 oz and is 29.5 inches long. He's a long and lean little boy. Our big accomplishment this month is that he started crawling...and he's all over the place. We are going to have to quickly baby proof the house because he is very curious and wants to check out every little thing.
This month Noah also seems particularly attached to his Daddy. Taylor walks in the door and Noah wants to go straight to him. On more than one occasion, he has just sat quietly with Taylor on the couch until he fell asleep. It's really pretty adorable.
We have also discovered that our sweet baby is a bit of a contortionist when he sleeps. More than once we have walked in to find him basically folded in half, sound asleep. I can't imagine how it could be comfortable, but he doesn't seem bothered by it at all.
Noah's mobility has added a whole new level of excitement to our house, and I imagine walking is not too far in the future. I imagine I will get much more exercise when that day comes. It's such a joy to watch Noah grow and change. My only wish is that I could slow it down a little. He's just growing too fast for me.

Our First Boo Boo
Noah got his first minor injury just shy of nine months old. He's learning to crawl, but sometimes gets his hands a little twisted. A scrape on the nose is what happened when he fell face-first into the carpet at daycare. I'm sure this is only a minor glimpse of what we have in store as he grows older and more adventurous.
